Is Serena Williams only as good as the male tennis player ranked 700th in the world? According to tennis veteran John McEnroe, quite possibly yes.
That’s what he said in an interview that aired on Sunday — and his assessment sparked some debate online and a stern rebuke from Williams on Twitter where she said his statements are “not factually based” and that she has “never played anyone ranked ‘there.’”
So, what exactly did McEnroe say to get this kind of response from the top player in women’s tennis?
In an interview that aired on Sunday, NPR’s Lulu Garcia-Navarro asked McEnroe about his new book, “But Seriously,” and questioned the way he qualified hsi praise for Williams as “the best female player in the world.”

The best womens tennis players couldnt beat the lowest ranked professional tennis players. They still have overpowering serves and faster reflexes and greater reaches.
She was honest. She knows the truth. And she didn’t let it bother her a bit, either.
I believe that myself. If they are women, they are enhanced with testosterone and HGH. Best bet is they are female like Michael Obama.
Men are too smart to go to what passes for higher education these days. They would rather not pay gross amounts of money to be told they are the source of all the worlds problems, that all men are rapists, if a woman is unhappy it must be a mans fault, somehow, and to get to the back of the bus and shut up and take it.
I too loved watching him play back in the day and often did.
His outburst were very embarrassing to watch.
If you think about it, it could’ve been a strategy.
You probably don’t play well when you’re pissed off about a bad call.
Throw a fit and get all the anger out and then you can continue to play great.

I don’t think anyone who seriously looked at this thought otherwise.
I was, at one time, a 3.5 to 4 player on my best day. A buddy of mine played in college and he just toyed with me when we played. I played a tournament against this girl who played in college — DII or a smaller D1, I don’t recall. She beat me but had an awful hard time doing so. She couldn’t return my first serve and I had no problem returning her’s. But her ground strokes and volley game was too much for me. Had I been able to hit what I wanted where I wanted I would have beaten her easily. My power would have been too much.
The only one where I would say it is within the bounds of reason is a knuckleball relief pitcher for MLB. It will never happen for various reasons, but it’s the scenario that I could see that would actually work.

I performed as Catcher at a Girls Softball warm-up once, I didn’t have a pitchers mitt, so I just used a fielders mitt... afterwards couldn’t feel my arm for a couple hours but she was really cute so I didn’t complain.
But! It would have been really painful and I would have lasted only a couple pitches had that been a male (of the same league) zinging those softballs at me ... (PS they ain’t soft)
But that gal could really throw hard! I tried batting against her once and she whizzed a couple past my nose right from the get go, smiling all the time ... it is a shame that youth is wasted on the young.

Venus has a better more acceptable body in my view but her face is very stern bantù looking

Are You Married? #1 is Memory, women forget nothing, they can tell you what shoes you were wearing when you last screwed up and whether they were shined or scuffed and hold a different % of grudge depending on if you were looking down at them or not at the time of the butt chewing of your supposed foolishness and she is /will be watching and cataloging your lack of memory and direction of gaze when she tells you about it years later and adds it to the original butt chewing with 100% accuracy and technicolor detail. Choose your words (Yes Dear) should be printed on the toes of every mans shoes for these occasions.
I am not a pushover but NO MAN can Compete with a woman in that circumstance, I think we have a Gene that prohibits it.
Forgive me, I did not know that I might be responding to a female. (looking at my shoes, and no other excuse comes to my male mind)
