Danielle Goyette? Is this the NHL Hall of Fame or some other Hall of Fame, like the Canadian Hockey Hall of Fame?

I just saw they included Jeremy Jacobs. This can’t be the NHL Hall of Fame!

It’s the Hockey HOF, not the NHL HOF.

Ah, okay...I saw Jeremy Jacobs and thought "Ya gotta be kidding me!"
If there ever was a more reviled family in this area for sports than the Jacobs family, I don't know who that would be. (at least for the hockey people I know)

Okay...the NHL is just part of that. Well, that’s okay then, I guess they can admit whoever they wish...:)
All these years I thought it was NHL. Bad assumption on my part.

Didn’t Selanne win the Cup with Anaheim in 2007?

Bad assumption on my part. Not really. I didn't know this until today either.

It’s funny...I played hockey for about 15 years, went to dozens of pro games, watched every game for a period of about 10 years, went up to Quebec City to watch the NHL All Stars play the Red Army team, stood for an hour in 20 below zero weather to see the traveling Hall of Fame, and never knew this...what kind of fan AM I?
When we got in, we got Gump Worsley’s autograph, and he looked at us and said “Did you people have to wait long to get in?” When we said it took an hour, he shook his head and said “You people are crazy.”
This from a guy who played pro hockey with no mask!!!

Long waits for Andreychuk and Recchi. Good to see them finally get in.
Kariya probably would have gotten in sooner if his career hadn't been interrupted by a concussion (which caused him to miss the 1998 Olympics). He wasn't quite as dominant after that Gary Suter hit, though he recovered from an even harder hit by Scott Stevens in the 2003 Cup Finals.

Cool. The Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto is truly a majestic landmark, but I really loved visiting the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame. It’s literally in the middle of nowhere — in the town of Eveleth, in the Iron Range of northern Minnesota.

I was glad to see them get in, too - especially Andreychuk. I tend to prefer two-way players to one-dimensional players in sports, and I don’t like seeing guys get into the Hall of Fame in any sport simply by compiling numbers over a long career. That would apply more to Recchi, but Andreychuk had similar knocks against him. He wasn’t very athletic, never really dominated the game, didn’t win any individual player awards (and was never a finalist for any of them either), and was never really counted among the best in the NHL at his position. But you can’t ignore 640 career goals, and his 274 career power play goals is a record that even Wayne Gretzky never threatened.

Cool -- thanks!
I just remembered that Selanne had a short clip in one of these classic TV commercials for the Stanley Cup playoffs a few years ago (around the 0:19 mark) ...
