Police in New Orleans are searching for four suspects involved in a brutal beating of two tourists during a robbery Saturday night in the city's famed French Quarter that left one victim critically wounded.

Surveillance video released by police late Sunday shows the victims attacked by four black men who beat them, stole their wallets and cell phones, and then fled, according to FOX 8.

The violent attack took place on the 200 block of Bienville Street, one block from Canal Street, just before 9 p.m., according to police.

One of the victims is seen being punched by one of the assailants from behind, which knocks him out cold. He is then seen lying motionless face-down on the sidewalk as blood begins to pool around his body and one suspect goes through his pockets.

Thank God the Confederate statues are gone or this attack would have really been bad. As is, New Orleans is mostly at peace and happy now, except for murderous thugs who roam the streets with impunity. In a city as corrupt as NO, these guys will never be caught and some other crime will come along tomorrow to erase this one from memory. I wouldn't spend a penny of money or a second of time in NO. Far too corrupt and dangerous.

Ah, the "Big Easy".

Just one more vomit/piss-stinking, feral-infested craphole that I will never bother to visit.

I’m surprised it didn’t read “African Americans defend themselves against White Privilege, Police Violence.”

It’s been said that “Nothing good ever happens after midnight!”

In New Orleans it appears nothing good ever happens.

Why there are ANY white tourists in New Orleans, is beyond me... It's like going to North Korea.

This is why I won’t travel to any state that doesn’t have concealed carry reciprocity with Alaska. I plan on one day going to the WWII museum in NOLA. But I will be packing and I have no intention of being a victim or a statistic.

Notice closely their mode of operation as with most others attacks of this type. Quickly come up from behind, sucker punch and then take what they want. They are cowards from start to finish and will die the way they live. Be aware of your surroundings at all times in situations like that.

Other than some excellent food and historical sites, architecture Nawlens aint all that great. Visitors at night meander up and down Bourbon St. which is rather lewd and seedy in spots. The nocturnal criminal ferals are a far greater stank on NO then the perfume of dried urine and sewage wafting in the air. Not a good place in hot, humid summers either.

It used to be called the “Knockout Game.” Trayvon was playing it but lost.

Well there goes the marketing effort... As someone who has to travel there a few times a year (including last week), I often get told that “yes there are some dangerous places in NOLA but the French Quarter is mostly made up of tourists and while it might be a bit sleazy, it’s essentially safe.” Sure... and this happened at 9 pm.

Travyon dreamed of being a pilot, how little we knew about him.

Some university gave him a posthumous college degree in some science field, to tie in with his dream of being a pilot.

The video shows why New Orleans is called the “Big Easy.” One sucker punch from behind, a choke hold and easy money! Yes! That’s the ticket!
