Don’t know the “gap” but thinking back to my own childhood decades ago, I can’t say that I heard of or knew of ANY boys who wanted to wear dresses and the girls who were “tomboys” in dress and interests weren’t sexually/romantically attracted to girls and grew up to lead normal lives.
