Improve and pass Healthcare (Saturbray)

Psalm 42:11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

There are two choices when it comes to a healthcare plan, bad and worse. If anyone believed it was possible to just drop Obamacare they were naïve or fooling themselves. The phrase repeal and replace is highlighted by replace since you cannot expect the GOP to go along with dropping millions of people off their forced healthcare. They will not qualify for a plan under insurance laws which existed before DeathCare, so will have no options if we started over and would not have coverage at any price or priced out of the market.

We have been notified next year our premiums are going to go up forty percent which means taking a serious look at dropping insurance all together. At this point what is the sense of paying over twenty thousand a year for insurance when it would bankrupt you anyway? This is the insanity of healthcare and it is not the insurance industry’s greed, it is the overregulation and lawyers sucking large settlements off of doctors and hospitals doing their jobs. There is no plan some egotistical politicians in DC are going to magically produce which will solve this crisis. The bottom line is America is trying to find a way to pay for the baby boomers entering old age and their increased hospitalization.

As one of the very few who claimed Trump would win both the nomination and election when he declared and an avid supporter, I am pleasantly surprised how he has governed. I supported him since he was the only person in America who could defeat Harpy and thought he would be a terrible President from a Conservative perspective. He grew up a liberal and it is in his DNA, but he has been a Yuge surprise as he has done more for America than the last four Presidents combined.

The right solution for HC is to repeal it and let the millions go without insurance when they find they do not qualify unless being on a group plan or are left to fend for themselves. These would be the victims of Obamacare even though it would be blamed on the heartless Trump. Heart in Moscow on the Potomac means spend more money for any given problem, but throwing people off would actually be the best solution and starting over.

These people would find solutions just as we would, we could set aside twenty thousand rather than pay the insurance company and take our chances and search out other alternatives to hospital care. Perhaps smaller clinics would sprout up with less care as well as less cost could find a place to develop or newer home care processes, but who says the giant hospitals with lawyer lines waiting out the doors are the answer? The problem is the invisible hand of the free market is not laid out like a fancy bill in DC where they can debate it and end up with a gruel nobody can stomach, but it takes time and creativity which Marxism lacks.

Nobody will go along with the correct solution which is shoot Obamacare dead, so now you are back to bad and worse. No matter what plan you devise it is going to be horrible, there are no other alternatives so take your half a loaf and go home and eat your gruel. This is a first step away from the Single Payer plan the Marxists wanted to write in the first place and revisit it in a couple years when you may have enough Conservatives to make the right choice and jump off that cliff into the real free market where you can allow competition and innovation solve these issues hitting the cool waters of freedom.

The plan developed by the Freedom Caucus is the best plan you are going to get out of the District of Corruption so pass it and move on to the real bill which is the budget. The Federal gummit has no business in HC so minimize the damage it can cause and move to cutting as much out of this monster as possible and then go to the next issue, such as the wall and stopping drugs and Mexicans from crossing our border and the bankrupting of Social Security and Medicare. There are so many massive problems in America most of which were caused by DC just like Obamacare, so if they would clear the deck of these two massive bills it would allow them time to try to make America free again.

There is a simple analysis of any bill before Congress which is, does this bill give Americans more freedom or less. Most bills give less such as Obamacare with its mandates and Death Panels. This bill gives more freedom by eliminating the mandate although likely leaves in the Death Panels which may be eliminated by Secretary Price. It does not allow Americans perfect freedom but it is a step towards more which is why it should pass and be supported in the spirit of Reagan’s half a loaf.

The Healthcare Bill is a bad bill which will be improved on by Cruz and Paul as well as the Freedom Caucus, but it will be hated by all as it should. Perhaps this hatred can be turned into repeal and true freedom for the American people down the road. President Trump has been a major surprise in his elimination of the shackles on this Country and really embracing the Tea Party philosophy pretty much in its entirety.

Trump should be given a pass on the replacement plan since he does not control Congress and can only get what RINOs in the Senate and House allow. They are who run DC and he only has the power of the veto which in most regards is an empty threat. So pass this bill and give as much time as you can, to the one bill that matters and the veto can be used which is the budget and move on. Obama and Pelosi ground one of the best systems in the world into a million pieces so do not expect the first attempt to hold water since with Health insurance you have two choices, bad and worse; so take bad.

Pray America woke

So you pounded your chest and what is your solution? What are you going to do with 50 million uninsured?
>

Fail to recall where it was ‘our’ responsibility to provide ANYTHING to any one ELSE.

We used to call that slavery and, at one time, was abolished in the U.S. Today, the names changed under flowery rhetoric, but it relives.

Maybe 50M, whom decide to they need insurance, should tell govt to get out of their/our lives, so they can have enough to put their $$ where THEY deem best served.

Back when people worked, medical insurance wasn’t a problem.

Now that America is saddled with a huge, unproductive welfare class, and with good paying, stable jobs offering medical benefits fast disappearing, medical insurance is a major problem.

Government medical “insurance” is coming whether you like it or not - and it’s going to be awful. As in near Third World awful. Politicians and the wealthy exempted of course.

Sooner or later this 20 Trillion Dollar-and-rising debt House of Cards is going to collapse.

Except the policy deductible is too low to be authorized a HC savings account. We had to close the one we had. And, being in a cyclic business, I cannot guarantee that the work load will support such a scheme for long enough to reduce my exposure from 30K to 20K.

The point of all this is to show that the government, in the name of helping ‘uninsured’, have made small businessmen practically uninsured. And they have structured it so that - if you have the ability to pay a reasonable premium - you have to pay an unreasonable premium for coverage that does next to nothing for you, in order to prop up the insurance coverage for the ‘uninsured’.

It is a shell game that cannot continue.

Add in the states deciding that illegals get coverage, and we are paying for our own invasion. And paying dearly.

Thank you for a respectful response, and although we disagree, I certainly hope you find my response also respectful.

The elites know this but are too busy enjoying the fruits of their fraud.

They own the government and so they tell their well-paid puppets to create social welfare programs to tamp down what would otherwise be an insurrection...can't have that going on in masses, it would put a damper on their leisure time with yachts and underage prostitutes.

The shyte will definitely hit the fan...but not until the ruling class have had their fun, their time runs out, and they are taking their(well deserved, but too late)dirt nap.

Am in exactly the same position. They need to be able to provide cafeteria plans with high deductibles and savings accounts through the employer. That is the real solution although DC would lose their taxes and won’t allow it.

To those who say the current bills are a good start, I ask a simple question: Are the current bills also an appropriate end point? Because it is clear that the GOP does not have the stones to do the hard work of actually getting rid of the federal takeover of health insurance and health care - and the GOP politicians will do and say nothing to reveal this duplicity on their part.

Come now, FRiend. If they were true to their word and passed a full repeal (thus supporting their platform and the Constitution), what *else* would they have to run on come ‘18? /*spit*

You’re 100% correct. To those ‘half-loaf’ suckers, one need only ask how well the ‘other half’ is coming along v. DoEd, amnesty...let alone the ‘hard choices’ of: NPR, NEA or (*dun dun dun*) PP.

Personally, I worry what ELSE they are going to saddle We with before the tables are flipped. Last time we got NSA, TSA, Pard D, NCLB. ‘Fraid we’ll all be hearing about ‘saving the Republic’....by ‘volunteering’ ones 401K\Roth+...

We know, but haven’t convinced others that Obamacare was designed to fail and the savior for the American people, the white knight riding to the rescue would be single Payer (100% government)insurance; and suddenly we are an official socialist nation. That was the plan. Central government, socialist government, is the Obama and now the democratic party credo.

With careful planning and narrative, it can be blamed on Obamacare. Win win. The free-market is restored and the blamed lies on Obamacare.

Obama will never be held responsible, much less blamed, for anything. Ever.

Franchised clinics (along the lines of Houston area Kelsey-Seybold), where you would “join” and pay a monthly “member fee” for coverage would go a long way to cutting medical costs....

The states being allowed to leave can become incubators for these ideas and start free market solutions.

More of your drivel posted in news and the mods/owner has to continually go to the trouble to move it to chat. Get over yourself and stop bothering them with your insistence in putting your nonsense in news. It is not news. It’s not even worth reading, but at least put it in chat. Every time you put your silliness in news, they move it to chat. Grow up and get a clue.

“...make America free again.”

Man, do I ever wish the above was Trump’s slogan. And his driving motivation.

But it’s not. Unfortunately, achieving ‘great’ again is entirely a subjective measure.

Whereas freedom can be measured objectively.

You make a solid case for your position and a great read, as usual. But I disagree somewhat.

Trump has been fantastic in many aspects of his young administration. But he has been terrible as far as leadership in respect to the legislative agenda and to advocacy for freedom generally. Granted, the party is not better and large factions are worse.

And, hell no, I don’t cut the prez slack on legislative matters just because he’s the executive. That IS the reason he’s more to blame for bad legislation. He is the final decider, the signer. Would he, as a savvy corporate exec, just sign things determining the well-being of his company without doing everything in his substantial power to affect what goes into the contract before he clicks his pen?

Trump is no Reagan in this sense. Settling for half-a-loaf after battling hard against the real enemy party for the whole is one thing. Tweeting and pearl-clutching intra-party hissy fits are not real fighting. Besides, Trump never battled for the whole loaf - freedom from fed involvement - when it comes to health care.

Trump has never even hungered for the whole loaf. Just the opposite, he likes fed level entitlements. He campaigned on preserving the awful programs we had before Obamacare and he now campaigns in favor of seemingly any similar garbage rolling down from the Republican Hill.

Achieving half-a-loaf looks exactly like exposing half-a-spine to me when the context is our party owning the Hill, the WH, the SC, the govs, the statehouses, etc.

Knowing well that political winds blow and that sentiment is a swinger, it would be quite a gamble to bet Freedom’s farm that the party will have MORE dominance later - after creating more of what they were elected to rid.

We are not winning half of anything when the supposed good party establishes an historically bad precedent by becoming the second party to make it a policy to buy votes with entitlements.

Bragging rights for 2018, if Logic can contort to calling it that, is absolutely not sufficient reason to sell the elephant’s soul. I had hoped and have advocated for Trump to go Old Testament on DC. But I should have been more specific. I did not wish to witness him salivating to share a fateful bowl of pottage with speaker Paul. But I’ve seen it. Thank the Father in heaven the Freedom Caucus flipped the table before they supped. I pray for either Freedom or flippage this time as well.

And, no, getting the feds out of HC does NOT mean anybody needs to go cold turkey on socialism - that’s what states are for, dagnabbit!

Virtually nobody on our side is talking about the blessing of God-giving freedoms and their protection via federalism. Despite being the most opportune juncture in history to do so because of the one party dominance not only across the three branches but also across the federated levels.

Which reminds me, where the hell is Jason Lewis on these things? He wrote the book on this stuff, literally (Power Divided is Power Checked), and is now in Congress from MN. You might have heard him sub for Rush in the past. This guy essentially invented the TEA party, or at least he was responsible for a similar movement/rallies in MN long before the TEA people. I’ve not heard a peep from him in the news. He also had his own radio shows over the years. I’d hoped he’d be fighting quite vocally for Freedom.

Thankfully not everyone is as small thinking as you. What is more newsworthy than Healthcare and you want to silence everyone like the Soviet Union. Posting once a week is just too much for your hypersensitivity. Looks like it generated far more discussion than you would like.

Bet the first line is what has your panties in a knot like all atheistic censors. Wonder how many complaints you have made to the mods over this?
