It may feel a bit like Black Friday this weekend at the Mall of America.
The Bloomington megamall is expecting big crowds on Saturday and Sunday as Muslims around the Twin Cities celebrate the end of Ramadan, a month-long period in which followers fast from sunrise to sunset.
Eid al-Fitr, which begins Saturday night, marks the end of the holy month.
In the day or two leading up to Eid, many families go shopping to pick up gifts for children. And when Eid arrives and the fasting is over, places like the Mall of America as well as the Original Pancake House and Chuck E. Cheese have become popular destinations for families. As a result, the megamall, as it has in recent years, is putting its parental escort policy into place all weekend as it does during other busy times such as on Black Friday and the week between Christmas and New Years Day.
The mall normally requires young people under the age of 16 to be accompanied by an adult 21 years or older after 4 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. But this weekend, the policy is in effect all day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

You mean Palm Springs?
Democrats stole the senate seat from Coleman for Franken. Voter fraud should be a capital crime.
Double ought.
Up chuck ur cheese not a smart place to go these days.
It would be a darn shame if a suicide bomber took out a few hundred (or more) of his own kind. Yep, a darn shame alright.
And export those that managed to get here.
Next time finish the statement, will ya?
Look at the eyes of these most wanted animals. They’re all exactly the same.
I refer to those eyes as having the Mohammed Atta look.
Avoid the Mall of America like the plague anyway...major terrorist target in my book.... but should I need another reason this would be it. Too bad ...the Original Pancake House is a great breakfast spot, but that too is now on my list of places to avoid. Interesting that this big Muslim festival is also falling on Gay Pride Day in Minneapolis.
Will they have a mass slaughter of sheep and cattle in the middle of the mall? Just to get into the spirit of Eid, mind you.
