I paid about $1,000 for the parts for my desktop pc.
It looks to me that the i5 is about the same be it used on a Mac or a Windows pc.

How much did you count for your custom labor in assembling that? How about the amount you accounted for future support? How about what you spent for a high quality 27" billion color gamut monitor? Did you do the engineering? What software suite did you include in that cost?

It looks to me that the i5 is about the same be it used on a Mac or a Windows pc.

Of course the processor works at the same speed. . . but the overhead of the system has an impact, and how well does it all work together.
