No iPhones in this house . . . 2 parents + 2 college aged kids.
One of those . . . just because everybody else has one doesn’t mean we have to run out and get one too.

Still haven’t bought one but I got the wife a 5s for Christmas and we really like it. I think I’m holding out for the 8.

Android is better but Apple did popularize the smartphone.

I do not own a Iphone and never even sent a text in my life. When my daughter comes over for a visit I tell her to turn her's off and we'll talk.

Without the Iphone there would not have been innovations in smart phones.
Apple set the standard.
And I still use Samsung.
Apple is better but, I am not an Apple guy, which is funny because I knew Jobs and have known Woz for 30 years.
I still have my 486 Dx66 that Woz put a sticker on that read “It Smells Inside”.
I keep it for laughs....

It’s an amazing gadget. I use it for many different things... even unusual things like decibel meter and vibration analysis... stroboscopic tachometer... police scanner... ham radio.
Mostly the camera, though. It’s good to always have a decent camera with me.

I don't care what the naysayers or "never owned one" crowd has to say here. The iPhone literally changed the world. And while many like to debate the merits of iOs vs Android, the fact is that Android OS is a total carbon copy of the iOs based iPhone and wouldn't exist today if not for it.
I sometimes forget that I can make phone calls on my iPhone. I use it for so many other things. Storing tickets for shows. Paying for most of my transactions. Getting much of my work done. Keeping track of my exercise and diet. Ordering things to my house like razor blades, food, and clothes. Watching movies. Reading books. List goes on and on.

I have a Samsung galaxy Note 3 (that's with a stylus like my old Palm LifeDrive and Zire).
When my daughter calls on my wife's iPhone 6 and wants to talk to me I can hardly hear at all with the volume up all the way. Every iPhone I have seen is a piece of junk.
Although the iPhone camera gets rid of my dog's lazer eyes when my Note 3 can't.

I miss Steve Jobs. Apple is not the same without him.

Never owned an Apple
anything or likely ever will.
Never felt the need for any sort of twit phone either, so I could walk around staring at the damn thing like a fool.
