There are exceptions, but they are few. They are also silent with respect to these issues
Because the moment they say something they are labeled uncle tom, not an excuse, but it is what it is.
In the twisted world of Comedy Central a wealthy celebrity getting pulled over by the cops is a tragedy BUT a college kid getting frog marched to a North Korean torture chamber is a punch line.
I knew a guy who was stopped twice in a day...by the same cop.
That’s nothing.
I had several that knew me by name.
And one time, when I was home for spring break from college, I outran one / ‘lost him’... and he was waiting for me at my parents house.
Actually he was the one who got me to slow down to sane speeds, at least in town... He said “If I ever catch you speeding again, or if you try to ‘ditch me’ again, I’ll tell your father.
A speeding ticket in those days was ten bucks, plus a dollar a MPH over 25 MPH above the posted limit (ancient history). I could afford that. I couldn’t afford my father finding out what an idiot I was. Nor did I want to embarrass him by all the cops knowing how I drove.
I have been driving seventy years and been stopped once. Hard to believe people get stopped multiple times a year.
then you should have been deported.
Cops come up with some ridiculous reasons. A couple of years ago I was driving straight down the road and a deputy I passed going the opposite way turned around and stopped me at night in a blizzard “because I thought your tires were too bald.”
It was you, wasn't it?
Just kidding! :)
Forty some years ago I was stopped all the time, bombing around in a new Fiat 124 Spyder.
