Glastonbury Festival has started off with hours of queuing as festival-goers face tightened security measures in the wake of three terrorist attacks in the past month in the UK.
Organisers advised ticket-holders to "pack light" for this year's event in light of extra searches before people were let onto the site.
Punters were forced to join queues half a mile long within an hour of the gates opening at 7am on Wednesday an hour earlier than planned with reports from seasoned attendees saying they had "never seen" queues like it.

Well the point of the story is tight security. Sadly we see security getting tighter everywhere because of terrorism.
They do security screenings at places such as Disneyland and ball games nowadays. Sometimes makes me nostalgic for the days when you could just buy your ticket and walk right in.
More moslems, more terrorism.
No Islam know peace
never seen queues like it ???

Correction: It’s not because of terrorism, it’s because govt is failing to do its JOB....protect and defend the People.
One does not do that while: importing disease vectors INTO the country, importing non-vetted from dangerous areas of the globe, failing to recognize the above, etc.
What you’re noting is the private sector having to pick-up the slack for the ineptitude and malfeasance of all levels of govt.
Same here-—
I live near “Burning Man’ in the N Nevada desert.
I NEVER understood spending that kind of money & time to celebrate a drug culture.
However-—THIS year, it may not happen.
Black Rock Desert is till underwater from all the rains & melting snow—& it snowed again 11 days ago in the mountains.
IMO, it is very doubtful that the Burning Man will happen this year. The ‘surface’ water may dry up, this is ‘playa’ & you sink in to your knees on a surface which looks ‘dry’.
