Sensitive personal details relating to almost 200 million US citizens have been accidentally exposed by a marketing firm contracted by the Republican National Committee. The data was available on a publicly accessible Amazon cloud server. Anyone could access the data as long as they had a link to it.

Wonder how much profit someone made leaking this?
That much info can’t just be left in a vehicle for a pickup.
address? phone?
sensitive?
sensitive is do you have herpes or not?
sensitive is when you got out the joint.
democrats have their purge list now.
IMHO, it was “accidentally on purpose”.
“This is deeply troubling. This is not just sensitive, it’s intimate information, predictions about people’s behaviour, opinions and beliefs that people have never decided to disclose to anyone,”
At the very least they should have to notify each individual exactly what was compromised.
then they would have to disclose what they know about you. You might be shocked, you might even be upset about it.
Why would anyone give all that information to a political party? If you want my money you can take the donation without knowing everything about me.
That is exactly why anytime a breach happens whomever was holding your info, be it private or government, should have to by law disclose what info they have on you.
Sure seems like this to me plus throw some deniable plausibility into the stew.
Did they mine the census data?
Is this "3rd party partners for marketing purposes" data that was sold by the company you bought shoes from over the internet?
Is this data that Google extracted from reading your emails and tracking your clicks?

lol.
Yeah SS numbers would concern me.
Birth dates are semi-sensitive...they can be combined with other information to help put together profiles of people.
As far as political views of people - it seems to me that the Republicans have NO CLUE as to what their voters think, so that information is likely worthless.
