You are correct, existentialism is anti-thinking kind of thinking, even if you call it phenomenology. German philosophy is mind numbing and spends much energy in attacking the mind.
Existentialism is the epitome of thinking and, as such, can be a cruel mistress as opposed to wishful grasping at invisible straws.
