You know why? I read Trump's Twitter message and Rosenstein's subsequent statement and have now come to the inescapable conclusion that Trump is not being investigated by Mueller.
Rosenstein's statement is a message that is given to media and broadcast to the general public, but is being directed at Trump himself.
Just go back through the chain of events and realize how clear this is.
What makes it hilarious is that Rosenstein is saying (in so many words): "Would you calm down and drink decaffeinated coffee for a while instead of reacting to every piece of bullsh!t put out there in the fake media, you orange gorilla?"
Rosenstein’s baits the public to protect the FBI. Republicans lend no assist to Trump, no defense is heard from the Hill among Republicans, but I digress.
Ros’ planted the idea that the leaks could be coming from other countries, in order to defend against the prevalent assumption that it’s the FBI leaking, which it probably is.
Mueller was going to have no leaks, remember? Yes, he runs this tight ship and no one is going to be leaking on his watch, no sireeee, no one who serves under him in this investigation.
That was the assurance, then, among all the other slobbering accolades that were showered upon the man as he being appointed.
