It’s funny in the ironic sense but it’s not funny at all in the cruel and unusual punishment sense. Criminal sentencing is not a place for a judge to display his sense of humor.

The teller turned over the cash, but Ripple didn’t run. He just sat and waited in the lobby.
When a security guard approached him, he quickly confessed and was taken into custody.
Ripple allegedly told police he robbed the bank because he couldn’t spend another moment at home with his wife.
Wow. Sounds sort of like the pilot episode of “Prison Break”, only in this case we’ll call it “Can’t Get a Prison Break”.
