Il Postino, sì. But Amarcord must have lost something in translation.No, it was perfection. To appreciate Fellini, you must imagine you are inside one of his dreams. Amarcord was a string of his childhood memories and vignettes, with WWII and the Fascisti lurking in the background of the late '30s countryside to persecute the simple villagers, who put on the brave face and carried on their dramatic, earthy and insouciant lifestyles as if nothing was going to go horribly wrong.
