I suspect in most parts of the country, the home inspection business has suffered in the last 10 years because insect pest control can be adequately handled by the customer spraying some insecticide once a year.
And in hard times, it’s an easy business to start so that encourages competitors.
He probably didn’t make much money at the business in recent years and he “had time on his hands”, the devil’s playground.
So he was ready to hear stories from Bernie that the government should pay his full freight. We’ll probably find out he had marriage problems too.
This is all guesswork on my part.
The Home Inspection business lives and dies off residential real estate sales, where they are typically required for financing. Home Inspectors that own their own small businesses would not currently belong to SEIU unless he had a second job going. If Hodgkinson belonged to SEIU, it would been during earlier stage of his work life.
That’s really good profiling.
His inspection business had a govt contract, hence likely driving an SEIU Mbrship. Link in #16 provides excellent bkgd.
Right - I don’t think there is a requirement to join SEIU if you’re a home inspector even in Pennsylvania - not sure about Illinois. Now if he had a government contract, maybe.
