Looks like there are a few liquor experts posting here. I’ve never tasted alcohol in 56 years myself. I don’t need to drink something to act a fool; it comes quite naturally.
So what is the whole James Bond Shaken Stirred martini line? Why do they say that, like insiders who know better?

There’s two ways to mix a martini: in a shaker, or with a stirrer. Shaken martinis atomize and fully mix the flavors. Stirred don’t atomize so the flavors layer instead of mixing. Think of it as the difference between a peanut butter cup where you taste the chocolate and peanut butter together but still as two flavors, and a peanut butter cup milkshake where you taste chocolate peanut butter as one. Most of the experts actually think stirred is better. Originally Bond was being a bit of a rebel, going against the norm. Of course he’s a major enough pop culture figure that he became the norm. I still like shaken better, but stirred is definitely prettier (stirring doesn’t cloud the liquid).
