I was in Germany for a while a few years ago, and they drown French Fries in Mayonnaise. Sounds awful but I got to liking it. I got great fries everywhere I went, the wonderful beer might have helped.
And then it’s what Canadians do to fries.
Different strokes. In the Philippines, they eat mayo with their hot dogs. Probably because they couldn’t get ketchup during WWII. They also improvised at that time, and invented banana ketchup. Sound awful, except there are about 500 varieties of banana, and only a few of them taste like the bananas we get in our grocery stores. Some of them aren’t sweet at all.
I was in Germany in the 60’s, and “accidentally” got mayo on my French fries, and I loved it.
I still have them that way, but not as often.
It’s way better than ketchup.
