Fifty years after Mildred and Richard Loving's landmark legal challenge shattered the laws against interracial marriage in the U.S., some couples of different races still talk of facing discrimination, disapproval and sometimes outright hostility from their fellow Americans.
Although the racist laws against mixed marriages are gone, several interracial couples said in interviews they still get nasty looks, insults and sometimes even violence when people find out about their relationships.
"I have not yet counseled an interracial wedding where someone didn't have a problem on the bride's or the groom's side," said the Rev. Kimberly D. Lucas of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C.

We visit Family who moved to Mississippi about ten years ago. The entire Liberal “Southern Man” hating meme is just that.
There are mixed Race Couples everywhere, there is no “obvious” public Racism, there are Gays everywhere and a whole bunch of people smoke Pot, young and old alike.
It’s like LA without the Communists, Mexicans and good Weather. Of course the Bugs are friggin unbelievable.
I live in a small Midwestern town that is racially split evenly black and white. There are more mixed couples, at least among the youth, than there are otherwise. No one cares. People love who they love.
Sometimes I get looks, but much of the time, I suspect it's just envy. 😊🙃
Seeing as how, today, a person can “marry” anything...Trees, cars, rocks....
If a guy married his right hand, then, one day, used his left, would that be adultery???

My family (Italian descent) adopted a little girl from China in the 1960’s on Long Island. We got blowback from some of our neighbors. I can’t imagine anyone batting an eye today.
We got some from the Chinese side of the family.
Not in 26 years, people really dont care. That’s my experience.
The Deep is not racist. The Deep South is tribal.
Your buddy, your neighbor, your work mate, your nephew may be in an interracial relationship but they are all in your tribe.
Some guy in the next town over may like his gumbo with a light roux instead of a dark roux and his is the devil.
