I really don’t understand any of this.
I’ve used Windows since 3.0.
I’ve used Linux Mint, when I could (I’ve got problems but it’s mainly due to trying to use it for things it apparently was never designed for).
This all sounds like useless claptrap to me. I’m too stupid and old, I guess.
Windows was, at one time, "just" an operating system. If you wanted to do something creative, you purchased an application program and ran it; the operating system provided support.
Apple's Mac took a different tack because Apple builds 'systems" -- hardware plus software -- and the software was a richer environment for doing creative things. So Macs tended to come with an array of creativity tools.
Windows is trying to compete in that market now.
