People always say that but for me when I say “to be perfectly frank/honest”, I have decided to part with the unpleasant truth that I have been holding back not to hurt someone’s feelings.
I have a close acquaintance who says that or starts her sentence with "but honestly.....". I have learned that this immediately is a red flag that tells me that she is about to try to convince me of something that is NOT factual in basis....
Me too. When I say “to be honest” and “to be frank” I’m just giving the other persona a chance to prepare to hear a truth they really don’t want to hear.
