I read some time ago that more people in the U.S. are bitten by copperheads than all other snakes combined. I am pretty sure that North Carolina has the most venomous snake bites but not the most deaths.
I haven’t seen the figures but I would bet more die from rattlers than any other snake bites, at least here in the U.S.

Yeah, I'm not sure of the statistics, either. It's not one of those things you really stop and ponder until you or someone you know gets bitten. But it's not something you generally bounce back from and are back at work the next day. Or the day, or the next day, ad nauseum.

I think I saw that Eastern Diamondbacks were the leading cause of snakebite death in the USA
