TRUSSVILLE, Ala. (ChurchMilitant.com) - A 13-year-old suffering from gender dysphoria took her life in late May after her parents, Erin and Matt Georgia, allowed her to identify and present herself as a boy. Jane Marie Georgia was allowed to begin her "transition" in sixth grade, changing her name to "Jay Griffin."
The parents found their daughter dead in her bedroom on Thursday, May 25. In the months leading up to her death, she had been placed on medications for anxiety and depression.
A 2016 study by the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center said that the suicide attempt rate among transgender youth is 30 percent.
Jane’s mother Erin said, "Don't get me wrong, I mourned the loss of a daughter," referring to Jane's so-called transition, "but then I realized that I'd been praying for a son my whole life. God answered that prayer, in just a different way."
Georgia also said the family went to church together in search of a "safe space," but that even "welcoming" churches did not meet the unexplained criteria of being safe. "As Jay was going through this journey, he would go to church with us. The church was welcoming, but there was no safe space," she continued.
"Me and Jay would go to different churches to find places that were safe for us," she said. "I say 'us' because I often feel like an outsider because I just love everybody, and that's kind of hard in a Christian Bible Belt state."
Georgia went on to imply that Trump's election may have had something to do with her daughter's difficulties: "It's probably been the roughest since the (presidential) elections." She thinks this is "because hate crimes have increased by 20 percent since the election and people feel more validated to be more discriminatory.''
Last year the American College of Pediatricians put out a statement that said in plain words, "Conditioning children into believing a lifetime of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex is normal and healthful is child abuse."
The pediatric organization went on to explain that children's feelings about their identity do not indicate that they are truly whatever sex they claim to belong to. "No one is born with an awareness of themselves as male or female," the group stated. "This awareness develops over time and, like all developmental processes, may be derailed by a child's subjective perceptions, relationships and adverse experiences from infancy forward."
Church Militant recently reported on a soon-to-be released documentary on ex-transgenders who found healing. They reveal to the public the face of transgender regret, especially following surgery. The film, titled TranZformed: Finding Peace With Your God-Given Gender, was produced by David Kyle Foster, who told Church Militant that the film emphasizes the humanity of people trapped in transgenderism.
"The message of the film is that people are very broken; they need lots of help," he said. "And the last kind of help they should be getting is not what they're getting."
Worth repeating.
When I see stallions cheerfully getting butt-plugged by another stallion, or male lions taking it happily in the rump from another male lion, I'll consider the possibility of homosexuality as natural. And when I see a lioness running a pride, fighting the males for the lead role, I'll consider the case for transgendered mammals. Until then, it is insanity.
And since this woman obviously loves everyone EXCEPT Bible-believing Christians, I put it in terms that didn't involve the Bible.

There are no choices today for parents There is no where to turn to, and all the professionals are either encouraging or non committal. So go easy on these parents who are trapped with a dramatic child in a toxic culture.

I don’t have any but I have friends that do. Good people but they are mostly not all tatted up. Just one or two.
I can’t stand tats.. for some reason I zone in on them..
I don’t like them either but I have friends with them. I was also in the military so tats were normal. I understand your view though , I zone in on them too, and I can tell whether the tats are gangsta, jail house, military, biker, sluts etc.
Any physiological component of transgenderism raised as a defense is a red herring. Virtually ALL of these comfused people who “transition” have no physiological or genetic ambiguity regarding their sex. Indeed, absolutely none is required to be “diagnosed,” only the collusion of a whacked out shrink.
In my experience, not many people have, or want, just one or tats. It’s always an ongoing project with such a mentality.
I was in the military also and most normal people did not have them.. Oh I i had some relatives had Tattoos but they only had one usually and it was a Heart usually saying MOM. That’s ok I just don’t like the Tattoos all over their bodies. They look like freaks from the Circus.. If you get my meaning?
People used to get tattoos to rebel. Now they get them to conform.
They’re searching for peace, but will never find it outside of God’s plan. Very sad for the girl.
