You don't seem to have read the rest of my post. My primary argument is not to advocate for abortion, but for the man and woman to have EQUAL rights. Which includes the man having the option of taking custody if he so chooses, and making the woman pay child support (or go to jail, just like a man would).
Your proposal is fine but it is heavy on making the child a pawn in a system of monetary transactions. I don’t buy into that concept.
A child needs so much more than money. He needs love and stability and (preferably two) adults who are always there for him no matter what adult problems they are having with each other.
We really have to get away from the whole notion of children being a burden and trying to figure out a way to shift the burden around to someone else. Yes, it costs money to raise a child, but it also costs time, and love and emotion and fear for their safety and well being. A child is a huge “cost” if you want to look at it that way.
But a child is a blessing. I wish we could look at it that way.
If we could we could get away from abortion and abandonment and all the bad things of the past ... or at least minimize them.
