Roger Smith, the suave leading man of television who starred on the popular 1950s-'60s ABC private eye series 77 Sunset Strip before a neuromuscular disease ended his acting career in his 30s, has died. He was 84.
Smith, who went on to manage the career of Ann-Margret, his wife of 50 years, died Sunday at Sherman Oaks Hospital, a representative for the actress told The Hollywood Reporter. No cause of death was announced...

I thought he suffered from a neuro-motor disease? Ann had her own mishap - a terrible fall from a platform in Las Vegas which broke bones in her face. That couple had their troubles! But she has class.

A beautiful man, Roger Smith and a loss to Hollywood entertainment when he fell to this debilitating illness.
I see pictures here of Ann and Roger enjoying appearances together. Very nice to see them out and about, while keeping their life together private.
MeTV plays the program every morning. I recently saw “The Silent Caper.” Well done. Originally aired June 3, 1960. A little before my time, I was into cartoons.
