Amphibious ships aren’t always necessary, but we used them as a decoy for the gulf war. If we put one or two in the vicinity it will force NK to defend the coast, thus dividing his army.
We have more tools in the toolchest than they have options.
Actually, they were very effective. It forced Saddam to defend against amphibious assault.
Sarcasm implied, especially since the context was amphib assault on Korean peninsula aka ‘the last time’.

This market seems to go only in one direction, why I am reluctant to sell, I’ll hang on and see, I just can’t see we go to war with NK unless they shoot first.
