Hot Air: Shouldn't environmentalists be celebrating the fact that President Trump decided to withdraw from the Paris climate-change agreement? After all, when it was signed, many of them called it a fraud, or worse.
The reaction to Trump's announcement was ferocious.
Billionaire environmentalist Tom Steyer said Trump is "committing a traitorous act of war against the American people."
John Kerry declared that Trump's decision "will rightly be remembered as one of the most shameful any president has made."
The ACLU said that dropping out of the Paris agreement is "a massive step back for racial justice and an assault on communities of color across the U.S."
These are the more polite responses.
Yet it was only a little more than a year ago that climate scientists and environmentalists were viciously attacking the Paris agreement itself.

Pretty sure all these type of agreements are nothing more than the elites grabbing our money and keeping it for themselves and their little SJW redistribution schemes. The fact a group like the ACLU or billionaire business leaders are spouting off and have their nose in ‘Climate Change’ tells you all you need to know about the real agenda of global warming alarmists.
Dear American True Believer in Global Warming:
Trump did not prevent you as private citizens and public/private corporations from paying your own fair share of the $100 billion in annual payments and freely doing your own acts to improve the environment.
All Trump did was protect the other 50% of Americans who choose not to follow the wishes of the Globalist elite and the whacky Pope.
So knock yourselves out. Stop taking jet flights, buy a Prius, and contribute to your heart's content as much as you'd like to the Globalist Environmental Causes you so choose.
But do not expect Deplorables to follow you because we choose to spend the same money enriching our families and not spend it on questionable science -- and even more questionable Globalist con artists.
When the NOAA can reliably predict (within 20%) the number of hurricanes that will occur in the North Atlantic 3 months ahead of the season, then come back and tell me how reliable your 100-years away climate data is.
