This would make sense.
I have always thought the whole thing bizarre, sort of out of Left Field (in more ways than one).
Out of the blue, Isaac Asimov (one of my favorite writers, but could have been “connected”) floated the idea in a book of “real” science (i.e.,not sci-fi) he wrote in the ‘50s.

Isaac Asimov (one of my favorite writers, but could have been connected)If you are part of a military think tank with other Sci-Fi Grand Masters during WWII, it is safe to assume you are connected.

The first time I specifically recall hearing the term “greenhouse effect” was in the 1973 film “Soylent Green.” However, I have a vague sense of knowing what the term referenced, so I must have previously heard of the concept. I was 13 years old at the time.

(Orwell, Rand and Huxley would not be proud of our society, but they'd have no trouble recognizing it)

Nothing is as it seems any longer. We had a fella many years ago that always talked about the gubbamint spying on people's cell phones/Internet usage. We thought he was a lil kooky...come to find out, he was right. lol
