This story has more relavance if you know what state they are in. In this case Washington State, bit I had to go digging for the information. Even the NY Post only obliquely referred to Washington. I did not know if which they meant. In doing so I went to wiki to find she has wiki imortality. But I was surprised to see this additional information.
Mary Katherine Schmitz was born in Tustin, California, the daughter of Mary E. (née Suehr), a chemist, and John G. Schmitz, a university professor.

Is selling pot a great idea, no, but if it’s legal where they live then that’s that. And I say if he (who has a spotless legal record AFAIK) is prevented from doing something his wife did 20 years ago, that’s a serious problem with the system.

IIRC she WAS sent to prison for several years, and when she got out, him then being of age, they got married and have been so ever since. They are different than most people/cases.

She committed the crime, and I agree with her punishment. Although she did get off light. But after 21 years hasn’t her sentence been served?
