Obama can't be Secretary-General of the UN, either. No citizen from a country which is on the 5-nation UN Security Council (the US is one) can be nominated or appointed to the seat.
So he's out of luck two counts.
Maybe he'll try to be appointed Pope to follow Francis at a subsequent papal conclave.
