When I was in school during the 50s and 60s nobody had autism but then we weren’t loaded up with mercury laced vaccines. In the early grades we also had recess and naps. Then we had recess sometimes twice a day. When we got to high school everybody had gym.

yep...we had odd kids in class and they stayed in class with us....they weren't labeled...
I remember thru grade school the nuns would take time once a day to Read to us....actually have us sit quietly and peacefully and just listen...usually an adventure book of some sort...
loved it...
