Truth and spin are headed for a collision
And voters must make a decision
Will they buy
Democrats lies
While the deep state commits misprision

Shakespeare, Sonnet 87

Farewell! thou art too dear for my possessing,
And like enought thou know’st thy estimate:
The charter of thy worth gives thee releasing;
My bonds in thee are all determinate.
For how do I hold thee but by thy granting?
And for that riches where is my deserving?
The cause of this fair gift in me is wanting,
And so my patent back again is swerving.
Thyself thou gavest, thy own worth then not knowing,
Or me, to whom thou gavest it, else mistaking;
So thy great gift, upon misprision growing,
Comes home again, on better judgement making.
Thus have I had thee, as a dream doth flatter,
In sleep a king, but waking no such matter.

Word for the day haiku:

Comey’s decision
to engage in misprision
drives much division.

This fits Dictionary.com's first three definitions of misprision:
1. a neglect or violation of official duty by one in office.
2. failure by one not an accessory to prevent or notify the authorities of treason or felony.
3. a contempt against the government, monarch, or courts, as sedition, lese majesty, or a contempt of court.
