Read Snopes’s layered analysis of Martin Luther King’s plagiarism of his dissertation—a very controversial topic that is barely talked about. They can’t deny it is true, but they bury it in a discussion of several other ostensibly false claims about King, and then water it down even further by saying it has “an element of truth.”

Same goes for Wikipedia. The media has convinced the dumb masses and they believe. Half of the US population are total morons.
FALSE. Michelle said it wasn't true.
EXACTLY.
They are not the “go-to” as the OP defines it. Rather, they are the retreat line for the indefensible.
An intelligent person doesn’t have to look very far to find the bias, something which discredits them wholesale right out the gate.
If the bias exists in one aspect, there is no credibility.
Thus, I smear EVERYONE using them as a source, even if I agree with it.
Snopes usually has links to their sources. So I tend to trust them for most things non-political. When it comes to politics, even if they get their facts straight, they often come to editorial conclusions that, lets just say, would be different than mine.
Now are you talking about the original Snopes with the fat first wife who embezzled $350,000 from Snopes, or the newer, more recent Snopes with the hotter looking hooker second wife telling you what’s true and what isn’t?
I’d ike to know too.
Still a good resource I suppose for those “shark ate man” tales, but look at Obama and the Clintons and Snopes gives them one gigantic pass for all their crimes.
Indeed. Zinn's "work" has been long discredited, yet, somehow, it has become pervasive in the higher education system. That can only be on purpose.
When Snopes.co was a husband-and-wife operation, they were fairly apolitical and the site was pretty much balanced. They have since split up and the site has hired other writers. I imagine that is where the bias has crept in.
I always bring up Zinn. Last straw from a family member that said it was the real US history. Worthless read, absolutely worthless waste of time. I’ve also been told it’s a mandatory read for some college history courses.
And many of its assertions have been debunked.
They’re not. The left still claims they can set all discussion conditions and decide what truth is. This is just one of their ploys. Don’t fall for it.
