Mine is supposed to be taking meds this week and knows if pills have been hidden in food. It’s impossible to unclench her teeth to shove it in.

Yep back of the throat and rub the neck and try again.

I’m just happy for him that he has you.

Enjoy him!

I fear that is where we are at. I still think he will take the pill in food, swish it around and spit the pill out. If crushed in food he will reject all of it. He is part lab, the other part connoisseur. Maybe the cops will take him to drug sniff. 😉

“It’s impossible to unclench her teeth to shove it in.”

This is a little hard to describe, but if you reach around over the top of the muzzle with your thumb on one side and fingers on the other side, apply pressure to each side, pinching the dog’s lips between your fingers and his teeth where they come together. Not too hard, but this will be uncomfortable and he will release his clench. Don’t try too hard, as I wouldn’t want to suggest something that could hurt him, but moderate pressure as I described will work.
