HIPAA needs to be reevaluated. I work with this horse-shit every day and it impedes the flow of information to health care professionals, not to mention the legion of bureaucratic health care professionals that cite 'HIPAA' as an excuse to not do their jobs or be needlessly overzealous (as if they understand the actual law).

I thought I read he died within 2 hours of reaching the ER. It seems odd that they couldn’t save him, but in under 2 hours they would not have time to get the usual trauma workup and do all this that the poster claims.
