Vanity - Shipping Steaks/Perishable Items

My family is traveling from Omaha to DC in July and I'd like to ship some steaks vs. shipping Omaha Steaks or similar products. My goal would be for them to travel with us on our direct flight.

From my research, it's not worth the $50 to get my own freight account and going thru FedEx is outrageously expensive.

Hoping Freepers may have ideas or thoughts.

Use an old Omaha Steak foam shipping pack, add a few pounds of solid CO2 and send UPS air.

Make sure at your destination to have a few empty 2 Liter Coke HDPE bottles so you can put the leftover CO2 in for a good blast.

I ran across this today and know this might be a bit late but thought you might find this useful in the future. Write down the cuts he shows and specify that you want these. Dont forget if you bring your own animal in that you should be expecting tongue, cheek, sweetbreads, heart, liver, kidneys, and tail.
