Turkish and had earlier breached security at Los Angeles international airport but “was assessed and allowed to board” the flight anyway.

What does "was assessed" mean?

The larger question is who is doing the assessing? And what exactly do they assess?

Maybe it means that they suspect he is a muzzie, and since we live in a PC world, they didn't want to offend muzzies, so they probably didn't do anything. But, they probably DID do a strip search on granny. You know, granny is more dangerous than a Middle East muzzie. /S

Anyone ever seen the TSA staff at LAX? This is no surprise. I think they picked up the applicants that washed out at the DMV.

Assessed means they checked his luggage and the toothpaste tube was less than 2 oz. Therefore he was ok to board, unlike my elderly mother who had a 6 oz. tube of toothpaste which caused the TSA to go into full alert mode.
