No kidding. When I got home this afternoon, we had a change in the forecast: frost warning for tonight.
The only things at-risk are the tomatoes, and they have tires surrounding them. I put several layers of black plastic over them. Since the predicted low is about 35 (yes; frost can form at air temps above freezing) it won’t be a hard frost.
Just have to get out there early enough to prevent cooking them.
That’s why I use row covers - I sleep too long in the AM - they would be cooked. Sometimes I even double the row cover, but for 35 degrees, just one layer would have worked.
