WASHINGTON (AP) — The popularity of the name Caitlyn has plummeted more than any other baby name, a year after Caitlyn Jenner announced her new name and gender.
In fact, Social Security’s annual list of the most popular baby names shows that the four names that dropped the most were all variations of the same name: Caitlin, Caitlyn, Katelynn and Kaitlynn.

It’s a horrible, horrible name.
I observe that “Bruce” is not on the list at all, and that “Hakeem” is on the increase list. That’s disturbing. So is “Itzayana”.
Those lists are just the top ten with the biggest jump/drop in popularity. Note that the actual rank in popularity for those names is no better than the 300’s, and in many cases is far lower. Bruce is at #550 in 2017, a drop of 40 from last year.
I heard that the name Hillary plunged in popularity after the Clintons came on the national scene in 1992.

Looks like many of the names increasing in popularity are from the underclasses. How nice.
The good thing is barely any of these names break the top 500.
It’s a shame that such a lovely name has been desecrated by the actions of a perv.
I can’t pronounce half of those names.
LGBT has ruined Gay and Caitlyn and the Boy Scouts. It was on last evening news how many members the scouts are losing - nearly 200,000 from Mormons alone.
How dare they categorize births as only male or female. We don’t know what these children are until they self identify. Should be just list.
