No, I think the other way around, that Comey was illegally recording the President. Trump probably has evidence of such, but Comey had no chance to destroy them because SURPRISE he had no advance warning of firing.

The day on which the out-of-town Comey was fired, I was the first and only one to post here that this gave the President the planned opportunity to seal the offices of Comey and his aides and assistants....and to swiftly remove all computers, files, tapes and other records and electronic devices.
I was right on the button...and it would behoove Comey not to try to out-smart or out-maneuver Donald J. Trump who is always a couple moves ahead in his thinking.
