This guy probably loves The Eagles No, the idiot author hates the Eagles. And anybody who either thinks the Eagles are "country", or compares them to The Monkees, hasn't got his head screwed on straight.

The Eagles are totally a country band. And the big difference between them and the Monkees is the Monkees actually made a couple of good albums.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. The Eagles, by their own admission, were heavily influenced by country music (more so before Felder and Walsh) and even considered many of their albums to be more country than rock. It may be that country music to you is limited to Johnny Cash, Tammy Wynette and George Jones. However, many of the biggest country stars of the 70's, 80's and 90's also see the Eagles as a part of the country music scene because so much of what they wrote was, well, country.
Their penchant for writing hugely popular and saccharine sweet top 40 type songs is what makes them akin to the Monkees.
