I'm thinking nanoscale self-replicating origami starchips that could be cheaply sent out at 0.2c into the galaxy, in every direction, by the octillions, to land on and thoroughly explore every planet, moon and rock in the galaxy, and report back to earth, all in the next million years or so... a la
Operation Starchip... Hey, a guy can dream, can't he?
