Fox News Trying To Pull Jesse Watters from Bill O'Reilly Comedy Tour
CNN ^ | May 5, 2017: 1:08 PM ET | Tom Kludt

Bill O'Reilly says his former protege at Fox News, Jesse Watters, will continue to make a series of public appearances with him this year. Fox News has other ideas.

O'Reilly has been actively promoting upcoming dates for "The Spin Stops Here Tour," a variation of the political comedy shows he has performed with Dennis Miller, the "Saturday Night Live" alum, since 2011.

Watters joined the tour this year. In March, he appeared with O'Reilly and Miller at a show held in Omaha.

For days on "No Spin News," the podcast that has become his primary outlet since he was ousted at Fox News, O'Reilly told listeners that Watters will appear at upcoming shows, which include stops in Baltimore, Tampa and Las Vegas.

"We're going to do the tour," O'Reilly said last week. "The tour stays. Miller and Watters and me."

But a source close to the situation said that Fox News is working out contractual issues to get Watters off the tour.

Both Fox News and Robert Barnett, Watters' agent, declined to comment. Representatives for O'Reilly and the tour did not respond to multiple inquiries.

O'Reilly continued for most of this week to promote Watters' planned appearances on the tour. But on Thursday, while encouraging listeners to purchase tickets to the shows, O'Reilly left Watters' name out.

"Miller and I will make it worth your while," O'Reilly said.

The prospect of Fox News' on-air talent appearing alongside O'Reilly is clearly something the network's brass would like to avoid.

“”That is so he can look on incredulously, which is about all he does.””

That scowl got pretty old the first few days of his show. I said if that’s the way he’s going to be performing for his new show, it would get pretty tiresome. He can be good and has a lot of facts at his command but his delivery is ridiculous.

I may be misinformed but I recall a couple of years ago that it was said Watters was O’Reilly’s production company employee. I have no idea if that was correct and if so, if it’s still true. I guess he could work for both FOX and O’Reilly???? I think the three - O’Reilly, Miller and Watters would make a heck of a show and apparently it’s been proven to be so.

I watch Graham Ledger on OANN during Tucker's timeslot and I watch Liz Wheeler's Tipping Point immediately following Ledger's show, which happens to air at the same time as that idiot show "The Five."

Except college kids know nothing and conservatives actually have thoughts. Leftists just repeat tired old rants about the right being “racist”, “sexist”, etc. and we’ve heard it all before.

Beyond creepy.

I’ve noticed that the queer has been missing all week. Don’t know if he’s on vacation or out sick since I never catch the beginning of his sorry news hour, but today Harris Faulkner was the guest anchor.

It would be a stunning development should the Murdoch brothers fire and replace Shepard, although I’m at a loss to think of one reason why they would.

Who would pay money to see Bill O’Reilly anyway? I find nothing bold or fresh about him. Watters shouldn’t waste his time there.

Given that BOR's road shows are almost always, if not always sold out, I guess thousands of people are willing to pay the big bucks to see him in person.

Thanks-—I don’t have OANN,though,so I’ve been catching up on my reading.

The 5PM and 9PM slots on Fox are dead in the water IMHO.

A lot of people pay to see them.

O’Reilly and Miller and Watters always sell out.

Watters is smiling on the way to the bank.

So I doubt if waters would take your advice.

It won’t do as well as before because he is no longer on Fox. He and Dennis Miller were successful with this for awhile. It has now worn itself out. O’Reilly was desperate to find a new partner. Going on a “comedy” tour with O’Reilly is about the dumbest thing Watters could do right now.

Very good points and you are right, especially Watters staying away from O’Reilly now. I take back what I said before.

Oh! Yes! Oynx! Couldn’t agree more! I hadn’t noticed the gay blade was missing this week, from his FOXNews hour. I know Fridays are all screwed up this week, on the News side of FOX. Brett Baier was missing as well, replaced just for tonight with some program with a “FIVE” in the title hosted with.... more girls!

Seems that on Fridays the guest hosts are rotated and replacing the usual hosts with regularity. It’s a confusing schedule juggle with Greta, Megyn and O’Reilly all gone from prime time and new replacement programs with new titles, on my Guide.

Isn’t it OANN One America News Network that is now on DirectTV?

Fox is going to find itself odd man out soon.

“....probably feels he owes BOR.”

And Bill knows Watters owes him. Watters was supposed to draw the “younger crowd”. For whatever good that does.

Yes, OANN is now on my Direct TV Guide. Just caught my eye a couple of weeks ago. It wasn’t very good at the moment I tuned in, but I haven’t followed up. The programming isn’t very descriptive, running across the Guide for hours, under the same program name.
