Before Barack Obama ever met his wife, Michelle, at her Chicago law firm, the future 44th president of the United States asked another woman to marry him in 1986—while the two were visiting her parents' home, a new biography claims.
“Rising Star,” which is written by David J. Garrow, was reviewed Tuesday in The Washington Post. The review said, "Garrow portrays Obama as a man who ruthlessly compartmentalized his existence; who believed early on that he was fated for greatness; and who made emotional sacrifices in the pursuit of a goal that must have seemed unlikely to everyone but him."
According to the review, Sheila Miyoshii Jager, his love interest, refused his advances at the time because her mother said she was too young. She was 23 and Obama was 25.
The two continued to see each other, but Jager told Garrow that shortly after the proposal, Obama became more ambitious.
“I remember very specifically that by 1987, about a year into our relationship, he already had his sights on becoming president,” she said, according to the book. She told Garrow that Obama’s “resolution of his black identity was directly linked to his decision to pursue a political career,” according to the review.
Jager is of Dutch and Japanese ancestry. The review pointed out that Obama-- who was a community organizer at the time-- was eyeing a political run for mayor of Chicago or a U.S. Senator. The review pointed out another book that said at the time, it could be seen as a political liablity for a black politican in the area to have a wife that was not African-American.

Too bad that greatness never happened.
I remember an article before zero was POTUS that said a group of extremely rich and powerful Chicago women took zero under their wing and then one told him it was time for him to meet Soros and she’d arrange it. This was the making of an American president - meeting and being approved by George Soros. Disgusting.
Go back to his college days. You’d be hard-pressed to find anyone at Occidental or Columbia who knew him. I remember reading a column from a poly sci major at Columbia who was a student at the same time as Obama. He recalled there were about 150 students in the program during that period; the man has no recollection of Obama, and neither do his classmates.
And isn’t it true that BHO was meeting regularly with movers-and-shakers in Chicago before he went off to Harvard Law. One eyewitness saw Obama at the home of Bill Ayers’ father (retired ConEd president) in the late 80s, when he was still a community organizer for ACORN. Rather odd that someone with the influence and power of the elder Ayers would spend time with a low-level social activist, but it’s clear that the liberal elites (at least in Chicago) had already pegged Obama for bigger and better things.
His “lack of a trail” (as you observe) is fascinating. The negative stuff we do know has been developed through dogged effort by a few conservative journalists, while the liberal MSM falls over itself to maintain the Obama facade. When the truth finally emerges—probably decades down the road—we’ll learn the effort to promote and install BHO began much earlier than we realized, with the help of foreign powers who favor the long game.

Obama;s pals pushed him to become president. This story is bogus!
Certainly I recall callers to black talk radio in 2007/2008 discussing obama’s halfrican heredity, pale (and tanning) skin, lack of ancestral ties to slavery and segregation.
They certainly took some pride in seeing him with a dark skinned wife and said so.
