I was too young and too Far West to appreciate Dorothy
Kilgallen. To me she and Kitty Carlisle were to old
and homely broads on TV game shows because they were
famous for being famous. So she was a reporter? Who
knew? Wish I could think of the 2 old stuff shirts
on WML who were the male counter parts. But I could
be thinking of I’ve Got A Secret. Some good TV, that.

One guy was Henry(WTF)Morgan, I think. The other guy
was Benedict, er something....if I gave 2 dead flies
I’d probably look it up.

Bennet Cerf.

IIRC WML was on Sunday night at 10 or 10:30. Late for a school night, The panel wasn’t picked because they were shy or handsome but because they were NY intellectuals. Cerf was a witty guy and wrote funny stuff in the style New Yorker Magazine. They would have a guest panelist like Steve Allen who was no slouch in the brain department.

Kitty Carlisle was actually in a number of movies.

That show and Truth or Consequences were some of my first memories. Grandma would sit me in my highchair with my second breakfast (I’d have an earlier breakfast with Grandpa) in front of the tv while she got her chores done.
