For the last maybe 30 years, Chinese people have been dominating the string sections of all of our major symphony orchestras. It has been mostly Chinese women who, perhaps motivated by the strict work ethic of the Confucian Culture combined with the discipline and regimentation of a half century of communism, have risen to the top in technique and musical skill.
But, the music they play is nearly all written by dead, white, European, (and mostly) heterosexual, (Tchaikovsky, Schubert, Britton, and Copeland not withstanding) males.
Is THAT “Cultural Appropriation” as well? Or is it OK that Chinese Women eschew their own rich cultural heritage to get rich and famous?
....or Asiaistic Salad? Asianalogous? LOL, the progs are a caricature of themselves!

Used to be Italians weren’t exactly considered “white.” One thing about black racism, it’s certainly caused all of the different Caucasian peoples to rally together as a race. At least it’s starting to.

Like the concept of ‘white’ in Europe. It doesn’t really exist in the way it does here. People are identified by their nationality, not their skin color.

We name our teams and mascots after things and people we ADMIRE, not stuff we despise.
As a part Indian myself, I am pleased with names like “Warriors”, “Braves”, “Seminoles”, “Redskins” etc.
I can’t imagine teams named after things we despise, like:
The Boston Bedwetters
The St. Louis Losers
The Cleveland Crybabies
The Washington Wussies
The San Francisco Sissies
The Cambridge Cowards
The New Orleans Looters
The Philadelphia Pharts
The New York Ninnies
The Winnipeg Weaklings
The Berkshire Burkas
The Harrisburg Headlice
I am sure most will agree.
