Of course it’s not because most of us (the sane ones) like it when others appreciate our culture.
That’s pretty good. It’s not cultural appropriation, it’s cultural appreciation.

We name our teams and mascots after things and people we ADMIRE, not stuff we despise.
As a part Indian myself, I am pleased with names like “Warriors”, “Braves”, “Seminoles”, “Redskins” etc.
I can’t imagine teams named after things we despise, like:
The Boston Bedwetters
The St. Louis Losers
The Cleveland Crybabies
The Washington Wussies
The San Francisco Sissies
The Cambridge Cowards
The New Orleans Looters
The Philadelphia Pharts
The New York Ninnies
The Winnipeg Weaklings
The Berkshire Burkas
The Harrisburg Headlice
I am sure most will agree.
