The Professionals was a British spy show that ran from 1977 to 1983, and was made by the people who did Avengers. Bodie was former Special Forces and Doyle former police. Put to 3 Doors Down's "It's Not My Time."
The British, despite their problems, generally make really good TV.
A million thanks! I collect British shows and I never even heard of that one. That definitely goes into my Amazon order file. Vera turned out a real bust, but Father Brown is a favorite.
Compared to the major networks that may not be a compliment.
Don't know if you're planning to stream it or buy it from Amazon. However,it may not well known enough in this country to be available for streaming. But,there are at least a few full episodes (and maybe more than a few) available on youtube. If you're planning to buy I'd suggest e-bay....full price for those videos is pretty steep (IMO).
I searched around and found the 1-7 season DVD set for 40 percent off in NY with quick delivery. Looking forward! Quite excited by your recommendation. Really appreciate the good advice. Thank you. Mary
Hope you enjoy it.Just a little FYI...the series, set in the 1960's,features an older, battle hardened London cop who moved to the northeast of England and a young detective with "attitude".
Well written, well acted...as is usually seen in British dramas.
Thanks again. I have a huge PAL inventory of DVDs. All the Sci-Fi series, and the series like Frost and Lewis and Morse and Endeavour. We play NTSC off a normal DVD player and PAL off the computer DVD reader set aside just for PAL. If you try to play NTSC and PAL off the same DVD reader it will switch a limited number of times and then stick on one or the other. I’ve loved the picture quality of PAL. Really appreciate the kindness of your suggestions. And always love to hear about any other show I’m missing.
How well you know me. I’ll find it. And do let me recommend Endeavour and Lewis and Frost. Morse not as much. Have you done Torchwood?
It’s WONDERFUL! Thank you!
