I thought the story was going to be about an Amish Golden Retriever
Dogs are prone to reverting to their instincts. When my German Shorthaired Pointer does that she points at something. When my Labrador retriever does that she goes and gets it for me. But neither dog would ever in a million years kill someone. You visit almost any dog pound in America and you’ll find them full of Pit Bulls and Chihuahuas that nobody wants.
If you are lucky enough to find a Labrador retriever at one of these kennels there will usually be a lottery to see who gets to take it home. And for good reason
We may never know the reason the dog did this. Police are searching for a motive.
A Labrador did this.
HATER!!!
Thank you Salamander, for providing some balance to the discussion. It appears that both potentialities exist at the same time for this breed and it’s many different strains.
One is a demon, while the next one may be a hero.
It’s a breed for those willing to take a high stakes gamble.
I can imagine it’s uncomfortable for you to read about astounding rate of killings and maimings pits cause - best for you to leave the thread having posted cherry picked data.
People who have pitbulls must have a subconscious death wish. It’s like playing with a loaded gun. May not go off today, maybe not tomorrow...hundreds of breeds to choose from and they choose the jihadi dog, who may radicalize any moment. The damage is often irreparable, and sometimes people die. WTH?
“The evil that Pits do lives after them...”

Uhmm...often not. Pits kill more people than all other types of dogs combined. The evil includes children missing limbs, faces, adults losing their houses to pay for reconstructive surgeries etc....not the life to which they were born, but one that was severed by pits.
Not a poodle or a Labrador retriever? I’m shocked.

A gamble on someone else’s safety, children, life, ability to earn a living etc. Yup, gambling with the neighbor’s kids lives, pets, peace of mind. That’s the kicker, pit bull owners have a hideous habit of escaping responsibilities and acting like it’s a virtue.
It's mandated in the Doguran.
"You know you want me"
Pits did this:
In 2016, pit bulls accounted for 71% of all deaths, just over 7 times more than the next closest dog breed.
In 2016, family dogs inflicted 45% of all dog bite fatalities. Family pit bulls accounted for 86% of these deaths.
In 2016, 42%, of all dog bite fatality victims were either visiting or living temporarily with the dog’s owner when the fatal attack occurred.
In the 12-year period of 2005 to 2016, pit bulls mauled to death 254 Americans, about one citizen every 17 days.
