GREENACRES Enraged from seeing the dating website Match.com on a mans computer last week, Lucy Melesky reportedly grabbed a mounted ax off the mantel and smashed it on the ground.
Melesky slung the ax over her shoulder and screamed at the man about the alleged unfaithfulness, he told Palm Beach County sheriffs deputies.
Melesky, 45, was arrested the evening of April 18 on charges of battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Her relationship with the man is redacted in the arrest report, as is the location of the incident. However, Melesky told authorities she lives west of Greenacres. She also said she works as an EMT.
When sheriffs deputies arrived at the home that Tuesday afternoon, Melesky was speeding off in a car, records state. Authorities pulled her over at a Sunoco gas station at the corner of Ohio and Lake Worth roads, about a half mile from where she told them she lived.
Melesky was convinced the man was trying to meet other women through Match.com, the man told authorities.
The man ran to a bathroom after Melesky grabbed the ax, but the woman followed, he said. She reportedly pushed him into a bathtub, held him down and shoved her cellphone in his face, displaying messages shed reportedly found on the dating site between the man and another woman.
Melesky was released last week from the Palm Beach County Jail under supervision. A judge ordered Melesky not consume either alcohol or illegal drugs and undergo random testing. She cannot possess weapons nor can she have contact with the man, except by phone.

the statement said assault with a deadly weapon- if you take a swing it’s not assault with a deadly weapon- it would —seem— that she would have had to swing “At Him” with the ax in order to be considered AWDW- but the article blurb posted here doesn’t indicate she swung it at him- just that she ‘pushed him in a tub’
It’s a technicality- not sure what hte actual law is- If a person is holdign a knife, and someoen sneaks up behind and attacks, and hte person with hte knife turns around and punches the person- is that still considered ‘assault with deadly weapon? They didn’t use the knife to assault the person with-
At least if she had hit him, there’d have been an EMT available.
Nurse Ratched?..............
Swipe left.....................
Note to self: Relocate ax. Get ax lock.
ok thanks- looked it up - seems that no verbal threat is necessary- as long as the defendant ‘felt threatened’- which covers quite a bit i guess-
law a : a threat or attempt to inflict offensive physical contact or bodily harm on a person (as by lifting a fist in a threatening manner) that puts the person in immediate danger of or in apprehension (see apprehension 1) of such harm or contact compare battery 1b
[[At least if she had hit him, thered have been an EMT available.]]
yeah but woudl she have gotten there in time to save him?
Yikes! That’s a rough-looking 45.
She’s have an ax. She could bust down the door.
and get charged with vandalism? She’s not crazy! lol
Winner!
Self fulfilling prophesy. Treat them like crap and complain when they stray.
Who knows what other things this whack job did to make him want to look for someone else to be with.
thanks- looked it up- you’re right- it would be assault with DW-
She should also be charged for ‘assault with fugly weapon’ for kissing him
That’s a hard lookin woman. :-)
If that was my wife, I’d be eating dinner with Arnold.
She needs a shave.
Did they just assume gender?
